I am so proud of my city. (And it is my city, even if I haven't lived there since I grew up in the suburbs and went away.)

Nice article by McFadden, too. The bemused Republicans, "some of whom regard protestors as little more than wild-eyed liberal wastrels." The crowds "packed as dense as broccoli florets." Mmmmmm, broccoli.

We can talk about trucking deregulation in January. First things first.

You really are something else (if by something else I mean f*cking awesome, of course!). :) I am rec'cing an LJ to you, I don't know much about the LJ-er and I don't even know if you read much of any fan fic, but [livejournal.com profile] circe_tirgana has a five part fic that makes lovely use of layering, language and nuance to drive a short five part fic (thus far) along with all of its dusky back story. For some reason, the language of it has reminded me of you.
