If anyone offers you free tickets to "The Frogs," starring Nathan Lane, with songs by Sondheim, choreography by Susan Strohman, and book by Aristophanes,, pick up the nearest baseball bat and beat them to death.

Because, folks, 30 years in Attica would be more fun.

We left at intermission & went to get sushi instead. Sheesh, what an embarrassment. Crappy on all counts, including Sondheim and Strohman, both of whom phoned it in. Aristophanes was nowhere in sight, & they had removed his name from the program. I am thinking of asking for my $ back on the grounds that they sold me a ticket to an Aristophanes play & then deleted the play.

Serves me right for thinking I really shouldn't be so hostile to musicals.

Thanks for the warning. I almost went to see this, but was blessedly out of town at the time my free tickets were available, and have been irked about missing it ever since. Sometimes, you gotta go see bad stuff just for the fun of dissection afterwards. Like, f'rinstance, Dance of the Vampires, which was so bad it defied description. Discussion was waaaay more fun than show.

Hi J--

Yeh, go see the frogs at the AMNH instead. At least they're real frogs.
