Eclipse

Did yall see that moon last night? Yellow as cheese and round as a coin. On the train, coming home from Providence, I watched it chase us south, grinning madly. An hour later it was just a shadow of a shade. But tonight, I am glad to see, it is back again.

I saw the moon last night. But no eclipse. It was round and white and very pretty, and the clouds distorted around it like oil on water.

When I was six, I convinced myself that the crescent moon was actually the Cheshire cat. Very scary times.
