malsperanzaTHOUSAND OAKS (Reuters) - President Bush on Friday called the worst blackout in North American history a ``wake-up call'' and said the electric grid must be modernized.
``I view it as a wake-up call,'' Bush told reporters during a visit to the Santa Monica mountains, adding that it was ``an indication we need to modernize the electricity grid.''
Hm, I wonder if anyone will notice that the Republicans and the White House have several times in the past 2 years shot down proposals by Democrats in Congress to upgrade the grid.
