Apr. 8th, 2003 12:34 pmWas at the Met yesterday (very quiet on closed Mondays, now that the Leonardo show is gone) & stopped to look at Antony Van Dyck's amazing portrait of James Stuart, Duke of Richmond--so very fey, practically in drag, and so very blond. Reproductions miss the arrogance of the pose... well, the period is an acquired taste, I guess.
