OK just reading that makes me turn some extra lights on and double check the closets. I have kept it locked in my safe but countless times it has turned up in the kitchen, living room and other places in the house. Yes. Yes, that's exactly what my life is missing: a haunted eye that will freak me out.

You know, when I first read that I thought it said "the eye . . . give me a cold shoulder." And I will leave that hanging, because some punchlines are better left implicit!

I keep thinking about this ad. Performance art? A new literary medium? Maybe, like certain cursed objects, the eye can only be given away to a willing recipient, and so there are levels and levels of trickery. I'm waiting to see: For Sale, A Monkey's Paw, slightly Used . . .
