that just puts them next to one another.

the (br) is like a carriage return.

centers it horizontally in the page.

Thanks! But when I tried this, I got the little blank boxes with the nasssty red X in them. That is, when the pix were stored in Yahoo Photos (as JPEGs).

So then I put the pix into Livejournal's pix hosting site, and the upload worked fine (see Boris n' Gleb, above) but the LJ portal would only let me do one picture per post (i.e., click on button to insert picture).

It's not that I am a Luddite: I don't hate machines. The machines hate me. I'm pretty sure that if I lived in the 18th century, mechanical looms would show up on my doorstep and beat me over the head with their sabots.
