This inspires me to promote a wonderful small organization that urgently needs money, as they are really struggling right now, due mainly to the large number of assaults on access to books in recent years.
National Coalition Against Censorship
Most of what NCAC does is help librarians and school teachers who get sued, fired, or threatened for giving the Wrong books to kids to read. Judy Blume is on their board, among others. But they also work on anti-censorship advocacy and are active in preserving the concept fair use, which is being undermined by recent trends in copyright law. Fanfic authors need fair use. Go to their site, join; send them a few bucks if you can.
