Yes. My beautiful handmade black wool felt tricorne, with black point-lace and silk band all around the brim. Purchased for a shocking sum years ago in Venice, back in the days of red wine and white roses and late late nights.

*strokes immense black ostrich plumes*

Wearing it was transformative. That's why people become actors, isn't it? So they can feel that change, and even command it.

I remember walking at night, in Carnival time, through the narrow calli in the tricorne and black frock coat, the long black velvet cloak that swept the heels of my boots and brushed the crumbling walls of the alleys, and of course the mask; always the mask. It was me and Casanova, me and Barbarossa, me and the Barbary Corsairs.

Yah, I might have to go see the pirate movie again. Men in tricorne hats and long hair, woof.

Or else buy a TV and a dvd player and a copy of Captain Blood, and watch that 10 or 12 times.

Wonder where I put the cloak. And the black suede gloves with red cuffs.

*sigh*
