I don't know what anyone is complaining about. That's a perfectly respectable 1st century A.D. Roman sculpture in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. Art historians study it; well, at least, they say that's what they're doing.

I mean, it's not as if there was any nudity involved.

Elsewhere in the news, I hadn't checked Get Your War On recently. He has posted a new series of cartoons, even more brilliant than usual.

Ha! You commented on my icon! I am pleased and also surprised for I did not know LJ informed me of comments. *dances the dance of hopeless newbiedom*

So, you a fellow classics geek? :)

Yep, am amateur classics geek--and a Hector/Andromache shipper from way back. Wah, Hector :-(

And despite present evidence, I do not wholly concentrate on the seedier side of classics. OTOH, I do also ship Oedipus/Iocasta. Nothing kinkier than classics, really, when you think about it.

Am also something of a newbie. If you haven't already, you may want to sign up with an LJ client like Semagic, which can provide an automatic login and makes writing posts and comments easier. It will give you features like easy ways to make links to websites, other LJs, and pictures in your posts. Not that I have figured out pictures yet. *Points to absence of icon in own LJ.* If you become insanely popular and get thousands of messages, you can turn off the feature that sends comments to your email address.

I like your reviews and comments when I spot them. Here, I will friend you, to get you started. I have no idea what the netiquette of friending is--it seems to be random. That is, some people seem to friend everyone who friends them, others don't.

Danke! I will figure out all this stuff eventually. I have just been reading some of your older posts and they were most entertaining. Behold, list!

1. Wah, indeed. Stupid Achilles.
2. Oedipus/Iocasta! Poor dear Oedipus! *sobs* Am also amused that you spelled Iocasta with an I.
3. Haha, the goat statue! Well, if you think about it, that looks like a satyr, so it's not entiiirely bestiality...
4. Amusing medieval manuscripts!
5. The Slash Brigade! Brilliance!
6. Harry Skypotter and Darth Vademort! Dune reference! !!!

*gazes at you with starry eyes*

Iocasta instead of Jocasta, you mean? Habit, I guess. I think it is pronounced Yo!casta, which come to think of it is singularly inappropriate.

*bitchslaps Achilles*

*waves hi*

Erm, hello. After reading your reply to paretorianguard's beta post, I had to check out your lj and pester you. I'm currently in the process of writing a piece of fanfiction, and I couldn't resist asking you if you would beta for me. If you in fact beta :) I realize this isn't the traditional way of searching for a beta, but again, I just couldn't resist.

If you are at all interested, please just respond to this post over at my lj. If not, I apologize for this incredibly awkward moment :)
